Live Oak Theatre Offers Classes in Acting
Live Oak Theatre is pleased to announce that it is continuing to offer classes in acting for ages 8 through 18. The class is held on Saturdays from 10 am to 11 am.
Students explore the art of acting through the study of various dramatic techniques including perfecting the monologue, theatrical movement, developing their character, perfecting the audition, understanding “sub-text,” scene study and analysis, perfecting humor, stage movement and stage combat, acting for commercials and much more.
The class is conducted by three experienced instructors, Vince Vanni, Kevan Richards, and Ron Dykes. All conservatory classes are held at the new Carol and Frank Morsani Center for the Arts, 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida 34601. About Ron Dykes
Ron Dykes received his Master of Arts degree in Theatre from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He has taught Acting Classes at Hedgerow Theatre in Media, PA and at STRA-BIS-MUS Theatre Company in Ridley Park, PA. He has numerous Directing credits and currently serves as an Acting Coach at Live Oak Theatre (in addition to being the Lighting Designer).
About Kevan Richards
Kevan Richards earned his M.F.A. degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Idaho. He wrote, produced and starred in his one man show Ezekiel’s Temple for a seven month tour around the U.S. and Canada. He also co-wrote and produced the run of The Damascus Commission at the Springs Theatre in Tampa. He has performed in Live Oak Theatre since 2015 and taught acting and stage combat at their theatre camps and conservatory, as well as helping with the University of the Nations’ Discipleship Theatre Course to produce Street Play for the Living Dead and Judah Ben Hur. He is working as an adjunct instructor for PHSC Springhill campus offering a Theatre Appreciation course for this fall term.
About Vince Vanni
Vince Vanni is vice-president and co-founder of Live Oak Theatre. He has been teaching the performing arts in Hernando County for over 25 years. In fact, some of his students are children of his former students.
In New York he was involved in creating, directing, and producing training programs and children's programs for a major publishing firm. Since settling in Florida in 1980, he has performed in several critically acclaimed productions, including Fiddler on the Roof at Stage West, The Show Palace, and Live Oak Theatre. He is the recipient of the very first Stage West HAMI for best actor… for his portrayal of “Tevye” in Fiddler. Vince now owns his own marketing agency and teaches acting and public speaking.
